Become a Monadnock at Home Volunteer

Make a difference - right here in your community.

Across the Monadnock Region, many seniors are aging without nearby family or support. Everyday challenges, getting to a doctor’s appointment, picking up groceries, or fixing a small issue at home, can become overwhelming, especially in a rural area.

That’s where our volunteers come in.

Monadnock at Home volunteers are part of a caring network helping older adults remain safe, independent, and connected in their own homes.

Whether you enjoy:

  • Fixing small things around the house
  • Helping with technology
  • Driving or running errands
  • Gardening or outdoor tasks
  • Or simply offering a friendly conversation

Your help truly matters.

Volunteering is easy and fits around your schedule. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. Every small act of kindness creates a big impact for a neighbor in need.

Seniors in the Monadnock Region need your help. Sign up today.

What do volunteers do?

Volunteers assist members with a variety of everyday needs, including:

  • Small odd jobs around the home
  • Light home maintenance and repairs
  • Grocery pickup and delivery
  • Help while shopping
  • Seasonal outdoor tasks
  • Friendly phone calls and visits
  • Tech help (TVs, phones, computers, printers, email, internet)
  • Transportation to: Medical appointments, Grocery store, Pharmacy, bank, Hairdresser, Social events

You choose when it works with your schedule and what you’re comfortable doing.

Why Volunteer?

Imagine receiving a medical diagnosis and wondering how you’ll get to the doctor. Or losing the ability to drive and struggling to get groceries. Or having a sudden home issue and not knowing who to call.

These situations happen often. With just small amounts of volunteer time, Monadnock at Home fills those gaps—becoming a vital support system for seniors who want to continue living at home.

Something as simple as installing an air conditioner or delivering groceries provides more than convenience. It brings peace of mind, safety, connection, and hope. You help reduce loneliness, improve health, and increase the chance that a senior can continue living independently.

From One of Our Volunteers

“When I first became a volunteer, it became apparent how critical the services of Monadnock at Home are in helping people stay independent. The experience has been incredibly gratifying—pure fun listening to clients’ stories and life experiences. I truly believe I’ve gotten much more out of this than I’ve put in.”
