A Guide to Improving Sleep in Later Life AND Back by Popular Demand: Happy to 102

– The Best Kept Secrets to a Long and Happy Life

As we age, our sleep patterns change. Older adults tend to have more difficulty falling asleep than their younger selves. Quality sleep, however, is essential to our physical health and mental well-being at any age. This workshop will explore the common causes of chronic sleep disturbance and provides practical guidance for seniors and caregivers alike on improving sleep quality and reducing sleep disruptions. The strategies presented are based on well-researched and easily applied methods and include specific steps for seniors with dementia and carious sleep disorders.

Happy to 102:  Based on studies of the elder population in Okinawa, Japan, lifestyle factors that have been linked to healthy longevity include: healthy diet, regular exercise, mental stimulation, socialization, and a sense of calmness and purpose. This informational workshop will explore the secrets to longevity and teach you how to live happier and healthier at any age.
